I love this GPS. The 5" width makes it much easier to see. It almost instantly picks up all satellites when it is turned on. Routing is rapid. It also recalculates a new direction rapidly if you miss a turn. It is lightweight and worked great right out of the box. I updated the maps with no problems. Garmin has taken the guesswork out of doing it. ALso the Garmin 50LM is one of the latest models that Garmin has made. I almost forgot...the lane assist is REALLY great!

FREE lifetime map updates entitle you to receive up to 4 map data updates per year, when and as such updates are made available on the Garmin website, for this specific Garmin product only until this product’s useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map data from its third party supplier, whichever is shorter. The updates you receive will be updates to the same geographic map data originally included with your Garmin product when originally purchased.
